OWENSBORO, Ky. - The Drury University soccer Panthers kept their unbeaten start intact, defeating Kentucky Wesleyan 5-1 in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match here on Friday afternoon.

The Panthers, now 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the GLVC, received two goals from senior forward Marco Cherisma - pushing his season total to five - and single goals from juniors Steve Wilczewski and Andrew Bordelon and sophomore Micah Whorton.

Drury led just 1-0 at the half, the score coming on a Bordelon goal (Ben Taylor assist) at 26:03. But the Panthers poured it on with four goals in the second half, all within just over four minutes. Cherima's two goals were assisted by Wilczewski and Whorton, while Whorton's goal was assisted by Wilczewski and, to keep things even, Wilzcweski scored off a Whorton assist.

Wesleyan got on the board with an unassisted goal from Trevor Banks at 87:30.

DU junior keeper Logan Hoffman was credited with two saves as the Panthers outshot KWC 28-8.

Drury will visit Bellarmine in Louisville, Ky., on Sunday for a 2:30 p.m. GLVC match.
