Panthers Blast Harding 5-1 In Men's Soccer
DU rallies from early deficit to move to 2-0 on season

SEARCY, Ark. - Drury University's men's soccer Panthers spotted Harding an early goal, then rolled to a 5-1 victory over the Bison here on Sunday afternoon.

Harding (0-4) struck first with a goal by freshman Phillip McCormick, his fifth, in the game's seventh minute before the Panthers charged back. Junior Steve Wilczewski had two goals, in the 10th and 44th minutes, and sophomore Adam Peterson added another in the 40th minute to give DU a 3-1 lead at halftime.

Drury (2-0) struck twice in the second half, getting goals from David Emnett in the 72nd minute and Jake Allison in the 85th minute to complete the victory. The Panthers amassed 35 shots in the contest to Harding's nine. 

Sophomore Ben Taylor had a pair of assists while juniors Andrew Bordelon and Ben Nabers and sophomores Danny Collins and Taylor Stacy had one each.

Junior keeper Logan Hoffman registered one save in his 90 minutes of work to pick up the victory.

The Panthers will visit Missouri-St. Louis for a 7:30 p.m. match Friday to open Great Lakes Valley Conference play before returning home to host Southern Indiana in a 2:30 p.m. match on Sunday at Harrison Stadium.

Hopkins also was selected to the all-tournament team after picking up a team-high 41 kills with a .349 attack percentage in helping the Panthers to a 1-3 finish in the Extended Stay Invitational in Anchorage, Alaska, last weekend.

Warren was named to the all-tournament team after registering 123 assists and 40 digs and helping the Panthers to a 1-3 finish at the Extended Stay Seven Invitational in Anchorage, Alaska.
