KANSAS CITY - Drury's soccer Panthers placed five players on the Daktronics All-America NCAA Division II squads, including Second Team All-America selections Stephen Conner and Ben Taylor.

Conner, a sophomore goalkeeper, and Taylor, a junior defender, were joined by Third Team All-America selection Micah Whorton (a junior forward), and Honorable Mention All-America selections Andrew Bordelon and Peter Higgins on the elite squad. Bordelon is a senior midfielder, Higgins a junior defender.

All five played a pivotal role in Drury's most successful season in the program's history, one that produced a final 21-2 record, a Great Lakes Valley Conference championship and a berth in the NCAA-II Sweet 16, the Panthers' first-ever berth in the NCAA-II Tournament. The five Panthers were part of an eight-man contingent of GLVC players named to the Daktronics squads.

Northern Kentucky junior forward Steven Beattie was the lone First Team selection from the league. Beattie, the 2008 and 2009 GLVC Player of the Year, is a first-team selection for the second consectuive season. He was named the 2008 Ron Lenz National Player of the Year in 2008 and returned in 2009 to post 19 goals and 44 points for the Norse.

The process begins at the regional level with all first team All-Region picks advancing to teh national ballot. This is the fourth year Daktronics has sponsored the NCAA Division II men's soccer All-America and All-Region teams.
