Swan Named NSCAA Region Coach Of Year, Soccer Panthers Take Home Academic Honors

DU head coach Ryan Swan
First-year head coach Ryan Swan was named the North/Central Region Coach of the Year and a trio of Panthers earned All-Academic honors at the recent National Soccer Coaches Association of America convention.

Junior defenders Grant Bowden and Blake Wilson were named to the Second Team All-Region for their academic prowess, while senior defender Jake Allison was an Honorable Mention selection. Bowden has a 3.39 grade point average in Business Marketing, Wilson a 3.31 in Architecture and Allison a 3.62 gpa in Business.

Swan and the Panthers finished 21-2, won the Great Lakes Valley Conference regular season and post-season tournament championships and advanced to the NCAA-II Sweet 16, all firsts in the program's history.

Men's Track and Field

Groover, a freshman, captured the high jump at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Championships in Kenosha, Wis.

Women's Basketball

Plemmons, a redshirt freshman, registered her first career double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds in just 16 minutes of playing time to help Drury beat Quincy in the GLVC Tournament quarterfinals Sunday at Weiser.
