SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Eddie Plesha scored both goals for Quincy in a 2-0 win over Drury in the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament quarterfinals on Sunday at Harrison Stadium in Springfield.
Quincy advances to the GLVC semifinals as the fifth seed in the tournament with a 12-4-2 record. Drury, who was seeded fourth, drops to 11-4-3.
The Hawks got on the board when Plesha put home a shot from 8 yards away in the 22nd minute. He scored again in the second half in the 69th minute putting the game out of reach for Drury.
The Panthers had a 10-6 advantage in shots and put three on goal against Hawks goalkeeper Nate Griffin. Quincy held off Drury and closed out the game to advance.
