ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Panthers edged Missouri-St. Louis 5-4 on Sunday at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis to move to the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament championship game.
Drury will play Indianapolis on Monday at 9 a.m. for the conference title.
The Panthers rallied after falling in two of the three doubles matches.
Larissa Karl sparked Drury's comeback with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Jennifer Hauer in the lead singles position.
With the match even at 4-4, Drury's JiaQuing Mo and UMSL's Carlota Trevino battled for three sets to decide the semifinal winner. Mo lost the first set 7-6 but won the second set 6-2 and battled deep into the third for a 7-5 win.
Drury improved to 20-2 while UMSL dropped to 14-2. Both Tritons losses came against the Panthers.
