SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury advanced to the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament title match with a 5-0 shutout win over Lewis on Saturday at the Cooper Tennis Complex.
Lewis was the second seed from the East and ends their season with a 12-10 record.
The Panthers, the top seed from the West, improved to 18-3 and will play UINDY, the top seed from the East, who swept Southern Indiana Saturday 5-0. The GLVC Championship match is set to start at 10 a.m.
Drury won all three doubles pairings over the Flyers and posted 8-4 wins at the top and bottom of the lineup. Nico Hadeler and Lukas Stierling won 8-6 to give the Panthers a 3-0 lead and improve their season doubles record to 16-5.
Drury clinched the win when Augustin Diot dominated Andre Norasith 6-1, 6-2. Paul Porcher set up the win claiming a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles over Anton Levitin.
