McCune had Drury’s best finish in a cross country meet in five years as she finished second at the Southwest Baptist Invitational last Saturday. McCune, in her collegiate debut, ran the five-kilometer race in 18:20.33 and was just four seconds behind the winning pace. Her time was the third fastest 5-k in program history and her second place finish matched the best placement since Erin Dolan came in second place at a meet hosted by Missouri S&T in 2012.
