Claire McCune, in just her second collegiate race, ran the fastest 5-kilometer race in the history of Drury’s women’s cross country program on Saturday. The freshman from Springfield (New Covenant Academy) completed ran a 17:46 at Missouri Southern State. She finished 15th overall and her time set a school record as she passed the mark set by Erin Dolan’s time of 17:51 set in 2012. It marks the second time this year McCune has been honored as the CoxHealth Women’s Student-Athlete of the Week.
