Austin Simms fired a complete-game, 9-inning shutout on March 24 against the University of Missouri-St. Louis allowing just five hits with two walks and 11 strikeouts. His 11 strikeouts tied a school record and was only the 10th time in program history that a pitcher has reached a double-digit strikeout total in a single game. The senior from Blue Springs improved to 4-2 with the win.
