Drury University Athletics

Andrea Bazzoli was the 2017-18 Dr. Edsel Matthews Award winner as Drury's Senior Student-Athlete of the Year. The native of Italy won the NCAA-II national championship in the 100-yard breaststroke. He won two conference championships in that event during his career as well as setting a Drury program record. Bazzoli was also on Drury's record-setting, and conference championship 200 Medley Relay team and helped the Panthers to a conference title and a national runner-up finish last year. At this year's national championship meet, Bazzoli was given the NCAA's Elite 90 Award, an honor given to the student-athlete with the highest grade point average competing at the national championship final site.
