Brendan Bena won the mile run at the Mizzou Open in Columbia on Friday. The sophomore from Jefferson City ran a time of 4:24.70 and finished with the sixth-best mark in program history. Bena edged Carlos Guzman from MidAmerica Nazarene by 0.65 seconds and passed his teammate, Matt Moler (who finished third), on the final lap for the win.
