Leonardo Cerri not only won his two singles matches in last weekend’s NCAA-II tournament, he got the clinching victories in both. Cerri’s 6-4, 6-3 win over Hayden Drury of Northwood gave the Panthers a 4-1 win in the opening round of the tournament, then he battled his way past Wayne State’s Donovan Nguyen 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 6-3 in the second round. That victory gave Drury a 4-2 win over 23rd ranked Wayne State and the sub-regional championship. The Panthers advanced to the NCAA-II championship site and the round of 16. They will take to the court again on May 21 in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
