Bailee Berger (Nunn) was a swimming standout for head coach Brian Reynolds, packing an unprecedented list of honors into her Drury career.
A native of Marshfield, Mo., Berger was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Swimmer of the Year her freshman season and broke NCAA Division II national records in three events, while swimming on three national championship relay teams. She added several Breech Pool records that season.
As a sophomore, Berger was named the Division II Swimmer of the Year, as she claimed national titles in the 100-yard butterfly, the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke races, and the 200-yard individual medley. She was also on the 200-yard and 400-yard Drury freestyle relay units, which were national runners-up. She also added a Breech Pool mark in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Berger came back as a junior in 2018-19 with four more NCAA Division II national championships, winning the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke races, the 100-yard butterfly, and the 200-yard individual medley. In all, Berger claimed 14 national championships, 21 GLVC titles, and helped Drury to the conference championship in every year of her career. She broke seven Drury records, eight GLVC marks, and two NCAA II records. Drury was the NCAA-II Runner-Up all three years the Panthers competed in the national meet. She was also a two-time Academic All-America choice.
In high school, Berger was a United States Olympic Trials qualifier in three races and swam for Springfield Aquatics. She was also named Arkansas LSC Swimmer of the Year twice for her age group.
