Caleb Cole was a Drury baseball standout at shortstop for head coaches Mark Stratton and Scott Nasby from 2011-14, with a number of Great Lakes Valley Conference honors along the way, starting with Cole’s selection as the league’s Freshman of the Year in 2011.

Cole won All-GLVC First-Team accolades his sophomore and senior campaigns and was a GLVC Second-Team pick as a freshman and junior. He also collected a first-team all-region selection from both the American Baseball Coaches Association and Daktronics as a senior, repeating both those honors from his junior campaign when he also was an all-region pick by Rawlings.

Cole finished his career as Drury’s all-time leader in runs batted-in with 190, walks with 100, and fielding assists with 577. He also ranked among the program’s all-time top 10 with his 45 doubles, 14 home runs, 378 total bases, 776 at-bats, 267 hits, 150 runs, and 63 stolen bases. He has Drury’s fifth-best all-time batting mark at .344 and on-base percentage at .419, and ranks sixth all-time with a .455 slugging percentage.

Cole led Drury to a 35-19 record as a freshman, a 29-22 mark his sophomore year and then helped his club begin a run of three straight appearances in the NCAA Division II Tournament in 2013 when the Panthers logged 39 wins. Drury turned in its best single-season win total in Cole’s senior year with a 44-13 record that included a 28-6 mark in conference play.

A native of Lee’s Summit, Mo., where he played at Lee’s Summit North High, he was his school’s co-male athlete of the year in 2010 and played in two state all-star games. He was Suburban Big 7 Conference Player of the Year in 2009, winning three straight all-conference selections to go with all-district, all-metro, and all-state laurels.
