Along with 2005 Drury Hall of Famer, Jill Curry, and a group of very talented teammates, Hope Hunt was a major reason that Lady Panther basketball has become one of the most respected programs in the nation. Hope's first two years were plagued by injuryand she, in fact, was a medical redshirt in 2001-02. But the next three years the Nixa, Missouri native was a key ingredient to team records of 27-5 in 2002-03; 36-2 in 2003-04; and, 29-2 in 2004-05. Each of those three seasons the Lady Panthers advanced to the NCAA-II national tournament with the 2004 squad reaching the national title game. While the Lady Panthers were a dominant force nationally, regionally and in conference play, Hope quietly set many individual Lady Panther records including the record for three-point field goals made in a career (213) and three-point field goals made in a season (79 in 2003-04). Hope earned her M.B.A. in 2005 while completing her final season as a Lady Panther and at the end of her career she was second in career assists (337), second in steals (294), fourth in scoring (1,350) and fifth in rebounding (391). She once held the single-game scoring record with 31 points in a game versus Rockhurst. For her efforts Hope was twice named to the NCAA-II Bulletin All-America team as well as being named to the 2004 South Central Region All-Tournament Team. She earned Heartland Conference First Team honors several times and was the 2004 Heartland Conference Player of the Year. Hope also earned Academic All-America honors in 2005 according to ESPN The Magazine. Hope earned her undergraduate degree in business administration on May 16, 2004.
