The Lifetime Achievement Award winner this year attended Drury for two years (1932-34) before transferring to Yale University, where he earned his medical degree. He returned to Springfield, where he served the community for more than five decades as one of its most trusted and respected physicians - somehow finding time to become one of the most successful amateur golfers in southwest Missouri and beyond. Among his many achievements on the links were multiple state and regional titles as a junior golfer, serving as a member of the first Horton Smith Cup team, winning two city amateur championships and earning conference medalist honors twice while playing for Drury, in addition to several club championships tThroughout the remainder of his amateur career. Dr. Ferguson never forgot his roots, remaining one of Drury's most loyal supporters.
