Per Eriksson is the older brother of last year's inductee, Tomas Eriksson. Per, a native of Sandared, Sweden graduated from Drury on May 7, 1989 with a major in studio arts after an illustrious four-year career (1985-1989). Per helped the Panthers to a pair of second place finishes at the 1986 and 1987 NAIA national swimming/diving championships and a pair of NAIA national titles in 1988 and 1989. He was the Panthers' 1986 and 1987 team M.V.P. His senior year Per helped lead Drury to its second straight NAIA national title by finishing second in the 100-yard butterfly, fourth in the 50-yard freestyle and fifth in the 200-yard butterfly. He was also part of all five relay teams which finished first: the 200, 400 and 800-yard freestyle relays and the 200 and 400-yard medley relays. Four of those relay teams set national meet records: the 200-yard medley relay (1:32.77), the 200-yard free relay (1:23.74), the 400-yard free relay (3:04.02) and the 400-yard medley relay (3:24.81).
