A native of Englewood, Colorado and a graduate of Cherry Creek High School, Ryan led the Panthers in scoring in each of his four seasons in college, finishing his career with an average of 73.4 as a senior. Ryan was an outstanding student who was the Drury golf team’s first NCAA-II Academic All-American in 1997-98, an honor he also earned in 1998-99. Ryan was also an NCAA-II Honorable Mention All-American in 1999. He helped the Panthers qualify for their first two NCAA-II national championships his junior and senior seasons. The Panthers finished in eighth place finish at the west regional his senior year and his junior season he finished fourth individually at the regional after helping Drury to a fourth place team finish in District 5. Some of his top performances came at the 1998 Washburn Invitational when he captured first place and shot a two-under par 214; at the UMR Invitational in 1998 when he was third with a one-under 143; and at the Missouri Southern Crossroads Tournament in 1997 when he had a two-under 214. He also helped the 1998 Panthers claim the championship at the USLS Rivermen Invitational. Ryan improved every year he was on the Drury squad and he continues to compete in PGA sactioned events while serving as the assistant pro at the Millwood Golf and Racquet Club.
