Sean came to Drury from Springfield (Mo.) Kickapoo H.S. where he was a highly-honored swimmer for the Chiefs. He was considered to be one of the best swimmers ever to come out of our city of Springfield prep scene and the Sprinfield Swim Club. An outstanding backstroke specialist for the Panthers for four years (1979-83), Sean was a high scorer at each of his four NAIA national meets and was a major part of the Panthers' first two team national titles: (1981 & 1982). He earned All-American honors all four years and earned national champion honors three years. Three years straight he was the NAIA's top backstroke specialist, winning the 100-yard backstroke his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. His senior year he set a new national record in that event (51.64) as well as being part of the national record-setting 400-yard medley relay team (3.25.66). Sean graduated from Drury College on May 8, 1983.
