Viktoria Gadd is one of the most outstanding and successful female freestyle swimmers in the storied history of the Drury swimming/ diving program. A native of Ronneby, Sweden, Viktoria helped the Drury women’s swimming/diving team to three straight NCAA-II national team titles after helping the Panthers to a third place finish her freshman year (1996). Upon her graduation from Drury on May 16, 1999 with a degree in Exercise and Sport Science (EXSP), Viktoria had claimed 11 individual NCAA-II national championships and was a 25- time NCAA-II All-American. She was the team’s Most Valuable Swimmer in 1997, the year Drury won its first NCAA-II team championship. The 1998 and 1999 team captain Viktoria held the Drury record in the 100 free (51.29) and the 500 free (4:54.80) at the conclusion of her Drury career. She was also a member of the record-setting 200, 400 and 800 free relay teams. She also held the Breech Pool record iin the 200 freestyle upon her graduation (1:5271). Equally impressive in the classroom, Viktoria graduated from Drury with a 3.6 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and twice earned College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Academic All-America honors. Her career was punctuated after her graduation by being a recipient of the prestigious NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship, a $5,000 award given to top NCAA graduating student-athletes. Viktoria is the younger sister of Cecilia Gadd, a 1994 Drury graduate and a 2000 inductee into the Drury All-Sports Hall of Fame.
