Panthers, Hawks To Square Off Saturday On 'Great Southern Throwback Day'

Long-time rivals Drury and Quincy will hook up once again on Saturday, when the Panthers and Hawks meet in a 3:15 p.m. Great Lakes Valley Conference tipoff on the annual "Great Southern Bank Throwback Day" festivities at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.

The Panthers (13-5, 7-3 in the GLVC) will be looking to bounce back from Thursday's 85-81 loss to Truman, Drury's second straight loss at The O' after Drury had reeled off a school-record 32 consecutive home victories before falling to Bellarmine 62-58 on January 10.

Quincy is 11-9 overall and 5-5 in the league after posting an 87-70 victory at Missouri S&T on Thursday in Rolla, the Hawks' fourth conecutive victory.

Drury enters Saturday's game now tied with Missouri-St. Louis and Truman State atop the West standings with 7-3 league marks, while Quincy is tied with Maryville (5-5) for fourth.

Evan McGaughey, a 6-9 sophomore, averages 11.3 points and 6.8 rebounds to lead the Hawks, who get 10.7 points per game from 6-6 sophomore Scottie Bruxvoort for coach Marty Bell's squad.

Junior guard Kameron Bundy - who crossed the career 1,000-point barrier (1,003) with his 17 points against Truman Thursday - and senior forward Cameron Adams average 17.1 points each to pace the Panthers. Adams led DU with 21 points in Thursday's loss and now sits at No. 19 on the all-time DU scoring charts with 1,375 points.

Drury leads the all-time series with Quincy 26-16, including a 92-87 overtime road win last season. The Panthers have captured the last five meetings between the squads.

Saturday's game will be televised by Mediacom Connections 22, and can be heard on JOCK 98.7 FM (www.jock987.com). It can also be viewed in a free webcast at www.drurypanthers.com/watch.
