DU Softball Drops GLVC Pair vs. Bellarmine

Ally Foster pitched two shutouts to give Bellarmine a GLVC sweep over the Drury Softball Panthers 5-0 and 1-0 at Thompson Field on Sunday.

Drury is now 8-14 overall and 1-7 GLVC with Bellarmine moving to 17-7 overall and 7-1 GLVC.

In the opener the Knights scored on an RBI double in the top of the third and pushed their lead to 4-0 on a three run homer by Hannah Daunhauer in the fifth.  Daunhauer hit her second homer of the game in the seventh to make it a 5-0 final.  Daunhauer finished with five RBIs on three hits with two runs in the opener.

Foster (10-1) earned the win for Bellarmine with eight strikeouts while allowing just two Panther hits and Shelby Weissenbach (4-6) received the loss and had two strikeouts and allowed nine hits.

After two scoreless innings in the nightcap Bellarmine crossed a run on a sacrifice fly to left center for the contests only score.

The Knights outhit the Panthers seven to three with Marissa Ross having two of those for DU.

Foster earned her second win of the day in the nightcap with five strikeouts.  Jessica Kjeldgaard (4-6) received the loss for the Panthers

Next up for the Drury Softball team will be a GLVC home pair on Saturday, March 28th vs. Truman State with games starting at noon.
