Rivalry from (almost) Day One
Almost from the launch of the Drury women's basketball program, a rivalry with Washburn was born. In 2001, the Lady Panthers' second season in existence, Drury battled a nationally ranked Washburn team to a 68-65 overtime loss. It set the stage for a series of battles between the two programs that would be played out for high stakes - either in terms of national or regional rankings or NCAA-II tournament play. The Ichabods won the first three encounters, including an 87-71 win in the 2003 NCAA-II South Central Region championship game. The Lady Panthers broke through with their first win in the all-time series the next year and knocked Washburn from the NCAA-II tournament with a 67-55 win in Weiser Gym.

The two teams have played a continuous regular season series since 2007 and the home team has won each of the last six games. Drury won 66-46 at The O' last year while Washburn won the 2014 game at Lee Arena, 87-79 in overtime.

The Lady Panthers are 0-7 all-time in Lee Arena. All five Drury wins in the series have come on the Lady Panthers' home court. The Lady Panthers are 5-3 at home against the Ichabods in the all-time series.

DU's last game – a Cat Fight win:
The Drury Lady Panthers captured their sixth straight win over Southwest Baptist in the Bank of Bolivar Highway 13 Cat Fight on Tuesday with a 75-66 win at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.

The Lady Panthers trailed by two at the half, 33-31, but outscored the Bearcats 44-33 after the break.

Paige Wilson led Drury with 20 points hitting 7 of 14 shots from the field. The senior from Bartlesville, Oklahoma was 4 for 9 from three-point range. Briana Jones added 17 off the bench going 7 for 10 from the field and 3 for 4 from behind the arc.

The Lady Panthers ended the third quarter on the three-pointer from Briana Jones to put them ahead 53-50, then started the fourth quarter on a Wilson three that extended the lead to 56-50. Drury led by as much as nine in the final period as they held off SBU the rest of the way.

Megan Rosenbohm led Southwest Baptist with 17 points.

Drury won despite being outshot (SBU was 46 percent from the field to the Lady Panthers' 44 percent), and out-rebounded (36-26). Drury's defense, however, forced 21 SBU turnovers that resulted in the Lady Panthers having a 23-9 advantage in points off turnovers.
