Panthers face defending GLVC West Champs
Drury faces the defending champions of the Great Lakes Valley Conference West Division with a game at Quincy on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Pepsi Arena in Quincy, Illinois.
 
The Panthers are 5-2 and 1-1 in the GLVC after suffering a 100-91 loss at home to McKendree on Saturday. Drury is 1-1 on the road this season with a win at Southwest Baptist, 89-61, on Nov. 14 and a loss at Emporia State, 69-62, on Nov. 18.
 
Quincy is 1-6 and 0-2 in the league. Last year the Hawks went 25-7, won the GLVC West Division going 14-4 in the conference and they qualified for the NCAA-II tournament. Quincy won their opening round game in the Midwest Regional with a 78-75 win over Kentucky Wesleyan before losing to host Bellarmine, 93-64, in the regional semifinals. The Hawks lone win this season was against NCAA-III Illinois College in an 83-77 win at home on Nov. 24. Quincy opened the year with a 75-60 loss to fifth-ranked Ferris State and followed that with a two-point loss to Grand Valley State 59-57. Last week, the Hawks opened conference play with a loss at Rockhurst 82-66 on Thursday and then fell in overtime at William Jewell 92-81 on Saturday.  
 
After Thursday's game, Drury returns home to play a non-conference game against Lyon (Ark.). Tipoff is at 3:15 p.m. at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
