SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury is home on Saturday and Sunday to face Truman State in a four-game Great Lakes Valley Conference series. Doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday start at noon at U.S. Baseball Park in Ozark.
The Panthers are 16-7 and 3-1 in the GLVC. Drury has won nine of their last 11 games including a 6-5 non-conference win on Tuesday at 12
th ranked Central Missouri. The Panthers started conference play last weekend winning three of four games against Missouri S&T.
Truman State is 7-18 and 0-4 in the league. The Bulldogs were swept last weekend against Quincy to start conference play and have lost five straight entering Saturday's doubleheader. Jason Priest leads Truman State's offense hitting .398 with four home runs and 28 runs batted in. Bryan Clark is 2-2 on the mound with a 3.21 earned run average in six appearances in five starts while Peter Young is 1-1 with two saves and a 2.89 ERA.
Ryan Colombo has Drury's top batting average and is hitting .400 with a home run and 15 RBI's.
Nic Perkins is batting .386 with three homers and 22 RBI's while
Shane Benes has a .372 average with nine home runs and a team-leading 33 RBI's. Colombo leads the Panthers pitching staff with a 5-0 record in six starts and a 1.69 ERA.
Saturday's doubleheader will be broadcast live on the internet on the
GLVCSN.
