Drury faces sixth-ranked Bellarmine in Louisville
Drury renews their rivalry with the Knights as they take on sixth-ranked Bellarmine in Louisville, Kentucky on Thursday night. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. (central).
The Panthers have won seven straight, are 12-2 overall and 5-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Drury owns a half-game lead in the West Division over Truman State and William Jewell as both teams are 5-2 in the league.
Bellarmine is 15-1 and 6-1 in the conference. The Knights won their first 14 games of the season and suffered their first loss of the year last Saturday when they fell at Wisconsin-Parkside 80-68. Bellarmine bounced back with a home win on Monday over Southern Indiana 78-62.
The Knights have won 52 consecutive home games, the longest home court winning streak in NCAA-II. Their last home loss was on Dec. 13, 2014, to third-ranked Florida Southern, 101-96 in overtime. That was their only home loss that season. Since 2009-10, the most games Bellarmine has lost in a single season is two.
The Panthers lead the all-time series 11-8 and eight of those 19 games have been in the postseason. Drury is 5-3 against Bellarmine in the GLVC and NCAA-II tournament and 6-5 against the Knights during the regular season.
Drury's road trip continues after Thursday's game with a game at Indianapolis on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers are 4-1 on the road this year and 2-0 away from home in the GLVC.
