Drury concludes road stint at Illinois Springfield
Drury concludes a stretch of four straight road games on Thursday when they play at Illinois Springfield for a 7:30 p.m. game.
The Panthers are 12-4, 5-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and are a half-game behind Truman State for first place in the West Division. Drury will be looking to snap a two-game losing streak as they are coming off of back-to-back losses for the first time this season. The Panthers lost 82-62 at sixth-ranked Bellarmine last week and dropped their road game at Indianapolis 91-82 on Saturday.
Illinois Springfield has also lost their last two games and enter Thursday's match-up 12-6 and 4-4 in the conference. The Prairie Stars are in second place in the Central Division trailing first-place Maryville (7-2). UIS is coming off of a 75-58 loss to the Saints on Saturday in St. Louis. Illinois Springfield is seeking their first winning season since 2011-12 when they finished the year 15-13.
Thursday's game will feature the top three-point shooting team in the nation against the team with the stingiest three-point defensive team in the conference. Drury leads all of NCAA-II with a 44.4 percent mark from the three-point line while Illinois Springfield allows just 31.4 percent from behind the arc, the top defensive percentage in the GLVC.
