Drury faces William Jewell for Overflow the O'
Drury hosts William Jewell on Saturday in their annual Overflow the O' game presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts. Tipoff is at 3 p.m.
The Panthers are 13-4, 6-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and trail Truman State (12-7, 7-3) by a half-game for the West Division lead. Drury concluded a stretch of four straight road games with an 80-60 win at Illinois Springfield on Thursday.
William Jewell is 16-4, 6-4 in the GLVC and is in third place in the West Division. The Cardinals have not had a winning season since moving to NCAA-II in 2011-12 and, with their record currently at 16-4, have already clinched an above .500 regular season mark for this year. William Jewell is coming off of an 84-78 win at McKendree on Thursday. The Cardinals are already 2-0 at the O'Reilly Family Event Center this year after wins over Lincoln and Minnesota State-Moorhead in the Drury Thanksgiving Classic in November.
Cardinals head coach Larry Holley is in his 39th year at William Jewell and his 47th season as a collegiate head coach. With his team's win on Thursday, Holley moved into a tie with Bobby Knight in all-time coaching victories in men's college basketball with 902.
