Lady Panthers in showdown with Southern Indiana
The Drury Lady Panthers play their first game since Dec. 17, and it's a battle of ranked teams as the 8th ranked Lady Panthers face off against 20th ranked Southern Indiana on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
 
Both teams are 11-1 and 3-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Drury sits in a first-place tie in the league's West Division with Truman State while the Screaming Eagles own a half-game lead in the East Division over Lewis.
 
Southern Indiana was in action on Thursday and won a home game against Missouri-St. Louis 70-65. USI trailed 62-58 but put together a 12-3 run in the final five minutes of regulation to pull out the win. Saturday's game will only be the third road contest of the year for the Screaming Eagles who are 1-1 on the road this season.
 
The Lady Panthers enter Saturday's game having won nine straight but have not played since their trip to Hawaii on Dec. 16-17. Drury defeated Montana State-Billings 74-69 on Dec. 16 and Notre Dame (Ohio) 63-60 the following day. The Lady Panthers are on their home court for a game for the first time since their 75-57 win over McKendree on Dec. 2.
 
Drury senior guard Heather Harman needs just one point to surpass the 1,000-point milestone in her career. Harman will be the 15th player in program history to reach the mark. The Walnut Grove product also ranks sixth all-time at Drury in career assists with 314 and needs just four more to pass Katie Pritchard for fifth place on the career leaderboard.
