Panthers home to face William Woods, Sat., 1 p.m.
Drury plays William Woods on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the O'Reilly Family Event Center for the Panthers third straight home game. The contest was moved to a 1 p.m. start to accommodate the NCAA-II Midwest Regional championship hosted by Drury University.
The Panthers have won their last two contests after starting the season 0-3 on a Southern California road trip where they lost three games by a combined 10 ten points including an overtime defeat against fourth-ranked West Texas A&M. Drury is coming off of an 85-75 win over Southwest Baptist on Tuesday in the Bank of Bolivar Highway 13 CatFight.
William Woods is 2-4 and started the year with two straight wins defeating Bethel (Kan.) 83-69 and Grand View 72-63. The Owls have fallen in four consecutive games including a 78-73 defeat at home to Park on Thursday in what was their league-opener in the American Midwest Conference.
Saturday's meeting the first head-to-head match-up between the two teams in program history.
After Saturday's game, the Panthers return to action on Nov. 23 and 24 in the DoubleTree/Houlihan's Thanksgiving Classic. Drury will take on Upper Iowa next Friday, then Newman on Saturday. Both games start at 3:15 p.m.
