Panthers host Saint Mary in home opener   
The Drury Panthers open their home schedule on Friday as they host Saint Mary (Kan.) for a 6:30 p.m. game in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
 
The Panthers are looking for their first win after going 0-3 in the D-2 CCA Tipoff Classic in Anaheim, California. Drury lost to #4 West Texas A&M in overtime, 68-62, then fell 65-62 to Concordia (Calif.) and ended their stay with a 65-64 loss to Azusa Pacific.
 
Saint Mary is also off to a 0-3 start. The Spires lost their opener to Haskell Indian Nations University 74-66 on Oct. 30, then lost two games last weekend in the KCAC-HAAC Classic. Saint Mary took a 77-74 loss at Peru State, then dropped a 69-46 game to the defending NAIA national champions, Graceland University.
 
Drury is 5-0 all-time against Saint Mary and won last year's game 101-83 against the Spires on Dec. 30 at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
 
Friday's game is the first of seven straight home games for the Panthers. Drury's next contest is Tuesday when they face Southwest Baptist in the Bank of Bolivar Highway 13 Catfight. Tipoff is 7:45 p.m. in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
