Drury takes on Southern Indiana in GLVC quarterfinals 
Drury takes on Southern Indiana in the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament quarterfinals on Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Vadalabene Center in Edwardsville, Illinois.
 
The Panthers are seeded third with a 20-6 overall record and a 13-5 mark in the GLVC. Drury finished the regular season tied for first with Truman State in the West Division. The Panthers went 1-1 last week as they won at home last Thursday over Rockhurst 65-61 and lost at William Jewell on Saturday 75-74.
 
Southern Indiana is 20-10 and went 11-7 in the GLVC. The Screaming Eagles have lost five of their last six games dating back to a Feb. 8 loss at Illinois Springfield. Southern Indiana ended the regular season with a 73-52 loss at Lewis on Saturday.
 
Friday's game is also a key match-up in the Midwest Region as Drury is ranked sixth and Southern Indiana is in seventh. Both teams moved up one spot from the previous week. The final regional rankings, which will determine the national tournament field, will be announced on Sunday.
 
The winner of Friday's game will advance to the semifinals and play the winner of second-seeded Truman State and seventh-seeded Lewis on Saturday at 6 p.m.
 
Drury in the GLVC tournament
The Panthers have won three GLVC tournament titles and own a 17-8 record in the league's postseason since they joined the conference in 2005-06. Drury has championships in 2015, 2013 and 2008. The Panthers have gone 8-3 in the quarterfinal round but are looking for their first trip to the semifinals since 2015. Drury lost in the quarterfinals last year to Bellarmine and fell to Quincy in overtime in 2016. The Panthers are 1-2 against Southern Indiana in the league tournament with two of those meetings coming in the championship game - 2013 and 2011.
