Panthers return to conference play at William Jewell
Drury returns to action for the first time since Dec. 18, and they re-enter conference play with a 7:30 p.m. game at William Jewell on Thursday in Liberty, Missouri.
The Panthers are 7-5, 1-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, and are coming off of a two-game split in the Cruzin' Classic in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with an 82-81 loss to 12th ranked Barry on Dec. 16 and a 71-54 win over St. Thomas (Fla.) two days later. Drury's lone conference game was a 90-81 win over Missouri S&T on Dec. 1.
William Jewell is 6-8 and 0-2 in the league. The Cardinals have not played since Dec. 17 when they defeated Ottawa (Kan.) at home 123-70. William Jewell has won four straight entering Thursday's game but is 0-2 in the GLVC having lost at Quincy 97-81 on Nov. 29 and on the road against Truman State 73-72 on Dec. 1.
Drury is 38-33 all-time against William Jewell, and the two teams split their season series last year with the home team winning both games. The Panthers won 86-67 at The O' on Jan. 27 while the Cardinals finished the regular season with a 76-75 win over the Panthers in Liberty on Feb. 24.
Notes To Know
--Thursday's game is the first true road contest of the year for the Panthers. Drury has played five games on neutral floors this year and has been at home for the other seven.
--The Panthers completed the month of December with a 3-1 record. Their only loss last month came to 12th ranked Barry in Florida on Dec. 16.
--After being held to fewer than 70 points in their first three games, Drury has scored 71 or more in each of their last nine contests and have averaged 83.6 points per game since Nov. 9.
