#1 ranked Lady Panthers open 2019-20 season in southern California
The Drury Lady Panthers start the 2019-20 season on Friday in the CCA Division II Tipoff Classic in Orange, California. The Lady Panthers open with Simon Fraser on Friday at 10:30 am (Central), then face 12th ranked West Texas A&M on Saturday at 12:45 pm (Central) and on Sunday will take on Montana State-Billings at 12:45 pm (Central). Drury returns 11 letter winners and all five starters from a squad that went 35-1, went undefeated during the regular season, won the Great Lakes Valley Conference title, and advanced to the NCAA-II semifinals.

Simon Fraser, based in British Columbia, Canada, went 17-11 last year. They are Canada's only NCAA institution.

West Texas A&M is ranked 12th in NCAA-II and is coming off of a 29-4 campaign. The Lady Buffs won the South Central Regional two years ago and advanced to the national semifinals.

Montana State-Billings 12-14 in 2018-19 but two years went 25-12, won the West Region and advanced to the Elite Eight.

Following Drury's opening weekend in southern California, the Lady Panthers play their home opener on Nov. 11 against Minnesota-Duluth for a 5:30 pm at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.

Notes to Know
--The Lady Panthers have won 30 games for three straight seasons going 35-1 last year, 31-3 in 2017-18 and 30-4 in 2016-17. They are 96-8 in the last three years combined with a 52-2 GLVC record in that span.

--Simon Fraser will be the fourth Canadian team the Lady Panthers have played during this calendar year, but the first one that actually counts. Drury defeated Concordia (Que.) 95-70 on Aug. 13 and they wrapped up the trip with a 94-56 win over the University of Montreal.

--Drury's Nov. 1 season-opener is their earliest start to the season in program history.

STREAKS
--Drury has won 39 straight regular season games. The Lady Panthers won all 28 contests before the postseason last year and have not lost a regular season game since Jan. 18, 2018 at Bellarmine.
--Drury has won 29 consecutive regular season games in the GLVC. Their last loss was at Bellarmine - Jan. 18, 2018
--The Lady Panthers have won 40 consecutive home games - the second-longest streak in NCAA-II women's basketball
