Panthers face Harris Stowe in home opener
The Drury Panthers play their regular season home opener on Thursday against Harris Stowe State at 7 pm in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.

Drury is 2-0 after starting the year with two wins in the Trevecca Classic last weekend in Nashville, Tennesee. The Panthers opened with an 89-71 win over Lake Superior State on Nov. 8, then followed with a win over host Trevecca Nazarene 88-67 the next night.

Harris Stowe State comes to Springfield with a 1-2 record. The Hornets won their season opener, a 73-69 win over Trinity Christian on Oct. 26, then lost at Lourdes 99-81 on Nov. 2, and fell at Indiana-Kokomo 85-64 on Nov. 9.

Under head coach Brion Dunlap, the St. Louis-based university has produced three winning seasons in each of his years there. Harris Stowe won the American Midwest Conference tournament twice during his tenure, earning the Hornets an automatic bid to the NAIA-I tournament both seasons.

Harris Stowe guard Deshawn Munson is averaging a triple-double in two games played. The transfer from Iowa Western CC is averaging 22 points per game, 10 rebounds per game, and 10 assists per contest while shooting .808 from the field. Munson has hit 21 of his 26 shot attempts in two games this season.

After Thursday's game, the Panthers are idle until Nov. 23 when they host Blackburn at 3 pm in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
