Panthers host DoubleTree Classic Friday-Saturday
The Drury Panthers host the DoubleTree Thanksgiving Classic on Friday and Saturday at the O'Reilly Family Event Center. The event starts Friday at 1 pm with Missouri S&T vs. Rogers State; then the Panthers take on Southern Arkansas at 3:15 pm. Saturday, Drury plays Rogers State at 3:15 pm while Missouri S&T will face Southern Arkansas at 1 pm.
 
On Friday, Drury Athletics will once again offer free admission to all four games. In addition, Drury Athletics is bringing back the "12 Days of Christmas" with prizes given away throughout the Drury men's and women's contests. Fans will have the opportunity to win $100 Visa Gift Cards, DU season tickets for the rest of the 2019-20 season, and other prizes from team sponsors.
 
Drury enters the weekend 3-0 but has not played a regular season game since Nov. 14 when they defeated Harris Stowe 94-87 at home.
 
This year marks the ninth year in a row Drury has hosted a Thanksgiving Classic. The Panthers have gone 12-4 in their event and split games last year, losing to Upper Iowa 83-78 and defeating Newman 78-53.
 
Southern Arkansas heads into their matchup with Drury 2-3. The Muleriders are coming off of a 72-53 win over Harding last Saturday. Southern Arkansas' game with the Panthers is the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
 
Rogers State will be Drury's opponent on Saturday. The Hillcats are off to a 5-0 start and defeated Cameron 78-71 in overtime on Monday to keep their record perfect. Rogers State started the year with an exhibition game at Oklahoma State and lost to the Cowboys 75-63. Drury's game with the Hillcats is also the first meeting ever between the two programs.
 
Missouri S&T will play the 1 pm game on Friday and Saturday. The Miners are 1-2 entering the DoubleTree Thanksgiving Classic.
 
Following the two games this weekend, the Panthers take on Southwest Baptist on Tuesday at home in the Great Lakes Valley Conference season opener, 7:45 pm at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
