EDMOND, Okla.– The Drury wrestling squad opened the 2019-20 season with a 41-3 loss at 13
th ranked Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Oklahoma on Sunday.
Peter Kuster, a sophomore from Jefferson City, picked up a win for the Panthers wrestling at 141 pounds. Kuster defeated Nate Keim 5-3.
Joe Chavez, competing at 125 pounds, lost 8-3 to Cody Karstettter while
Ben Stahlman also went the distance with Ty Lucas and dropped a 12-6 decision.
"We know where we need to go, and we know who we need to beat on our way there," said Drury head coach
James Reynolds. "Today's dual was a test, and we'll see the results during the season. I am thankful for this team and this coaching staff. We trust in the process and will learn from this."
The Broncos earned three wins by Fall and three by Major Decision in the win.
Sunday's dual was the season opener for both teams.
The Panthers return to action next Saturday in the Kaufman/Brand/Bayly Opened hosted by Maryville University in St. Louis.
