SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– The Drury Panthers ended their regular season with a pair of wins in the Drury Duals on Friday at Weiser Gym in Springfield. The Panthers picked up a 26-16 win over Westminster and followed with a 24-19 victory against Central Missouri.
Drury built a lead over Westminster with four straight wins starting with
Peter Kuster's 8-0 Major Decision in the 141-pound weight class against Drake Winder.
Seth Otis followed with a 16-4 Major Decision over Dylan Hellebusch and
Blake Clevenger, at 157 pounds, won by Fall in 3:30 against Payton Price.
Charley Genisio then edged Jacob Warren 5-4 at 165 pounds.
The Panthers seized the lead against Central Missouri with five wins in a row that started with Kuster's win against Dakota Thevel, 9-5. Otis earned a win by Fall in 3:43 and Clevenger pinned his opponent in 46 seconds. Genisio gave Drury their third consecutive win by Fall with a pin at 1:43.
Dylan Komperda, competing at 174 pounds, extended Drury's win streak with a 3-2 win over Benjamin Gadbois. Nixa product and senior
Ben Melton closed out the dual with a 7-2 win over Deryl Van Nostrand.
"We are extremely pleased to end the regular season with back-to-back dual meet victories," said Drury head coach
James Reynolds. "Today we honored our two seniors as they wrestled their final matches in Weiser Gym.

Blake Clevenger have been part of the foundation in this young program, and we have certainly chosen wisely with two very strong pillars. We also need to recognize and thank all the families, fans and parents that came and watched the duals today."
The Panthers return to the mat in the NCAA-II Super Regional tournament hosted by Lindenwood in St. Charles, Missouri.
