Panthers celebrate '79, Homecoming and Senior Day on Saturday
Drury will close their regular season on Saturday against William Jewell at 3 pm on Homecoming and Senior Day at the O'Reilly Family Event Center. The Panthers will honor their seven senior players before the game and celebrate the 40th anniversary of their 1979 National Championship team at halftime.Â

The Panthers have won nine straight games and are 18-10 with a 12-5 mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Cardinals are 12-17 with a 6-11 record in the GLVC.

William Jewell won the earlier meeting against Drury 81-80 in Liberty as Byron Harp made three free throws with 1.9 seconds left to give the Cardinals the win. The Panthers lead the all-time series, which dates back to the 1912-13 season, 76-61.Â

Following Saturday's game, Drury will advance to the GLVC Tournament and the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 7. Game times will be announced later this weekend.

Notes To Know
--Saturday's game is the last one in the career of William Jewell head coach Larry Holley, who announced that he will retire at the end of this season after 40 years leading the Cardinals program and 48 as a collegiate head coach. Holley ranks 9th in all-time collegiate coaching wins (combining all levels) with 919 career victories.
--During Drury's nine-game winning streak,
Tyler Clanton has gone 39 for 50 from the floor shooting 78 percent. He was 7 for 10 from the floor on Thursday vs. Rockhurst and went 6 for 6 at Maryville last Saturday.
--The Panthers are 12-2 at home this season and have gone 7-1 on their home court in conference play. Under head coach
Steve Hesser, Drury is 196-30 at home and 117-17 at the O'Reilly Family Event Center since it opened in 2010.
