OZARK - Southern Indiana used 13 hits to take the final game of a GLVC series 11-7 vs. Drury at US Baseball Park on Sunday.
Back to back doubles by Brant Ollinger and
Clayton Engel (RBI) in the Panther third got Drury on the board. USI scored 5 runs on four hits and in the fourth and added four runs in the top of the sixth to push their lead to 9-1.
Aaron Mann blasted his second homer of the season in the sixth to cut the lead to 9-2. Both teams traded runs in the eighth inning. USI added a run in the ninth to make it an 11-3 contest. Drury didn't go down without a fight tacking on four runs on three hits in the final frame to cut to final score to 11-7.
Man went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and scored a run to lead the Panthers who finished with 10 hits. Ollinger and
Ethan Owens each added two hits for the Panthers.
Logan Pittman (0-1) got the loss and allowed five runs in 3.1 innings. Chase Partain earned the win for USI and went seven innings and allowed two runs.
Up next for the Drury baseball Panthers will be a trip to Missouri Southern on Tuesday in a non-conference contest set for a 3 pm start.
