Panthers face Indianapolis in GLVC Quarterfinals
The Drury Panthers will take on Indianapolis in the quarterfinals of the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament on Thursday at noon in the Vadalabene Center in Edwardsville, Illinois.
 
Drury enters the postseason having won 10 straight and is seeded fifth with a 19-10 record and a 13-5 mark in the conference. Indianapolis is the number four seed and is 19-9 overall with a 12-6 mark in the league. GLVC seeding is based on a point rating system - Indianapolis had a 3.78 average to Drury's 3.69.
 
The winner of Thursday's game advances to the semifinals and will play the winner of #1 Lewis vs. #8 Truman State on Saturday at noon.
 
Indianapolis won the lone meeting against the Panthers this season with a 71-70 win at the O'Reilly Family Event Center on Jan. 10. Indy's Jimmy King hit two free throws with four seconds remaining to lift the Greyhounds to the win. Drury leads the all-time series against Indianapolis 8-6.
 
The Panthers are 18-9 in their history in the GLVC tournament and have won the tournament championship three times (2015, 2013, and 2008). Drury is 9-3 all-time in the quarterfinals and last year advanced to the semifinals with a 79-72 win over Southern Indiana in the quarterfinals before falling to Truman State, 68-67 in the semis.
 
With their 10-game winning streak, the Panthers are tied for the best league record since Jan. 26. Drury and Lewis have both on unbeaten since late January.

Jimmy King hit two free throws with four seconds remaining to put UIndy ahead by one and Drury's desperation attempt at the buzzer fell short. Trevor Lakes had 21 points for the Greyhounds to lead all scorers while Allen Billinger had 20 for Drury. Indianapolis went 12 for 28 from three-point range and only committed nine turnovers in the road win.
 
The Greyhounds have won four of the last five meetings with Drury and the Panthers last win over Indy was one Jan. 14, 2016 in a 77-65 win at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
