SPRINGFIELD, Mo.- Drury split a doubleheader with 20th ranked Indianapolis as they won game one 10-1 in five innings and lost game two 5-0 on Monday at Thompson Field in Springfield.

The Panthers moved their record to 24-9 and 7-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference while the Greyhounds ended the day 27-9 and 8-4 in the league.

Drury took control of game one in the second inning as they sent 12 batters to the plate scoring nine runs in the frame.
Madoline Seumalo and
Megan Tersteeg had RBI singles followed by bases-loaded walks to
Kaelie Smith and
Jacy Ummel.
Serenity Healy drove two more with a double, then
Kinzy Mathis smashed a three-run bomb to centerfield to give Drury a 9-0 lead.

Kasey Cazares (7-2) got the win going five innings allowing four hits, one run, and four walks with one strikeout. Halie Waters (12-5) took the loss for the Greyhounds.

Lauren Honkomp (12-3) fired a three-hit shutout in game two to give Indianapolis the split of the doubleheader. Honkomp allowed only three singles, walked two and struck out 10 in the win.

The game was scoreless until the top of the sixth when Indianapolis scored all five of their runs starting with a solo home run from Taylor Podschweidt. That was the only earned run of the inning as an error kept the frame alive long enough for the Greyhounds to score four more runs.

Jacy Ummel had two of Drury's three hits in the game, and
Hailly Greenough (4-3) took the loss going 5.2 innings allowing six hits, four runs and one earned run with one walk and three strikeouts.

Drury's game two loss snapped a six-game winning streak.

The Panthers return to the field on Wednesday with a non-conference doubleheader against Central Missouri starting at 3 pm at Thompson Field in Springfield.
