EVANSVILLE, Ind.- Drury split a doubleheader with 25th ranked and defending NCAA-II national champion Southern Indiana on Friday as they lost game one 6-0 but won game two 3-2 in 10 innings in Evansville, Indiana.

The Panthers moved their record to 28-13 and 9-7 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference while the Screaming Eagles went to 28-14, 14-4 in the league and their game two loss snapped a nine-game winning streak.

Jennifer Leonheart, the reigning national Pitcher of the Week in Division II, fired a three-hit shutout in game one for Southern Indiana. Leonheart (17-4) went seven innings allowing three hits and no runs with only one walk and 11 strikeouts.

The Screaming Eagles scored five runs in the first inning scoring two runs on a triple by Alicia Webb, and three more on a home run by Lindsey Barr.

Madison Resch tried to keep Drury in the game from the pitcher's circle as she entered the game in the first inning and went 5.2 innings surrendering only one run on five hits.

Hailly Greenough's RBI single in the top of the 10th proved to be the game-winning hit giving Drury a 3-2 win in game two.
Kinzy Mathis reached base with a double on an 0-2 pitch with two outs in the 10th to set up the winning run. Leonheart (17-5) entered the game in relief in the ninth inning and took the loss for Southern Indiana.

Kasey Cazares (9-3) got the win going all 10 innings and recorded the final out of the game when Southern Indiana had the tying run on third base. The Screaming Eagles started the bottom of the 10th on Caitlyn Bradley single, and USI advanced her to third on a sacrifice bunt and a ground ball, but Cazares got Taylor Ricketts to pop up to second base to end the game.

Southern Indiana pushed the game to extra innings with a run in the bottom of the seventh when they were down to their final out, but the Panthers held them off in the 10th to improve to 2-1 in extra-inning games this season.

Greenough went 3 for 5 with an RBI at the plate in game two.

Drury continues their road trip on Saturday with a doubleheader at Bellarmine starting at 11 am (Central) in Louisville, Kentucky.
