Kaleb Schmidt, baseball

Kaleb Schmidt fired seven shutout innings as Drury won their sixth straight game with a 4-0 victory over Maryville at US Baseball Park. Schmidt allowed only three hits, all singles, while walking two and striking out five. After missing nearly a month with an injury, the Springfield-Kickapoo product had his longest outing on the mound since Feb. 15.

Ellie Cobb tied for first at the UIS Spring Invitational played at the Piper Glen Golf Club in Springfield, Illinois on Saturday. The tournament was shortened to one round with inclement weather forecast for Sunday's second round. Cobb fired a three-over-par 76 and tied for first with Maria Espinosa of Illinois-Springfield marking her first career tournament win.

Men's soccer hosts Joe Fehr Memorial Charity Match on April 26
The Drury men's soccer team will host the Second Annual Joe Fehr Charity Match on Friday, April 26 at Harrison Stadium. Gates will open at 6 pm with the match starting at 7 pm. The game will feature active players on the Panthers roster against a team of Drury men's soccer alumni and will serve as a fund-raising event for Burrell Behavioral Health.
 
The match is played in memory of former Drury men's soccer player Joe Fehr who passed away on March 29, 2018, after completing his sophomore season. The Omaha, Nebraska native was a Pre-Engineering and Computer Science major, an All-Academic Great Lakes Valley Conference award winner and a two-year starter for the Panthers. His jersey number 17 was retired by the men's soccer program, and each player will wear that number in the April 26 game to honor Joe.
 
Proceeds from the event will go to benefit Burrell Behavioral Health, a community mental health clinic based in Springfield that serves 17 counties across southwest Missouri and recently announced a partnership with Drury University to establish a counseling service in the Panther Clinic.
 
Tickets are $5 and include a hot dog or hamburger at a tailgate event inside the stadium as well as a raffle ticket for prizes to be given away throughout the game.
 
In addition to the pre-game tailgate, several of Drury's Greek organizations will be involved raising additional funds through a bake sale, a lemonade stand, and popcorn sales. Prizes donated from area businesses will be handed out throughout the night, and there will be additional games to involve kids and Drury students at halftime as well as a live musical performance.
