Drury hosts 21st ranked Missouri Southern St., Tue., 6 pm

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– The Drury Panthers are back at home on Tuesday night as they host 21st ranked Missouri Southern State in a non-conference game at US Baseball Park in Ozark. The first pitch is scheduled for 6 pm.

The Panthers are 23-20 and will be looking to bounce back after losing two out of three last weekend in conference games at Missouri-St. Louis. The Lions are ranked 21st in the NCAA-II Collegiate Baseball poll and enter Tuesday's game 29-13. Missouri Southern has won three straight having swept Northeastern State at home last weekend, and they are in first place in the MIAA with a 20-7 league record.

Tuesday's game is a rematch from a March 13 game in Joplin when Drury banged out 19 hits in a 17-8 win over the Lions. The Panthers had a 10-5 lead going into the ninth inning of that game and blew the lead open scoring seven times in the final frame. Aaron Mann and Nathan Schweppe both homered in the game, and Ethan Owens went 3 for 6 with three runs, three runs batted in, and a triple. Collin Fraley got the win for Drury going five innings allowing four hits, three runs, three earned runs, four walks, and three strikeouts. Cole Gacke took the loss for the Lions giving up nine hits and seven earned runs in 4.1 innings.

Drury's game against Missouri Southern is their last non-conference game of the regular season. The Panthers host William Jewell for their final home series of the season as they take on the Cardinals on Saturday and Sunday in a three-game set.
