SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury Lady Panthers head coach
Molly Miller announced the signing of Kayleigh Evans, a 5-11 forward from Van Buren, Arkansas, to their 2019-20 recruiting class.
Evans averaged nine points, six rebounds, and two blocks per game last year for a Van Buren High School team that went 15-13 and finished in fourth place in the highly competitive Class 6A-West Conference.
"Kayleigh is another athlete that is a multi-dimensional player," said Drury head coach
Molly Miller. "She can guard any position and runs the floor extremely well. Her ability to score inside and out makes her a tough match-up. She has all the tools to succeed in our unique defensive system which will prove to be extremely beneficial as a contributor to our team. We are so happy Kayleigh decided to join our Drury family!"
Evans will join a 2019-20 signing class that includes 5-9 guard Kelsey Winfrey (Jr., transfer-Missouri Univ., Lebanon HS, Lebanon, Mo.), 5-10 forward Alana Finley (Fair Grove HS, Fair Grove, Mo.), 5-11 forward Mia Henderson (Benton HS, St. Joseph, Mo.), 5-6 guard Sydney Benning (Mercy McAuley HS, Cincinnati, Ohio), and 6-2 center Hannah Morrell (Berryville HS, Berryville, Ark.).
The Lady Panthers completed the 2018-19 season with a 35-1 record, advanced to the NCAA-II national semifinals, went undefeated in the regular season, won the Great Lakes Valley Conference championship, won the NCAA-II Midwest Regional title, and ended the year ranked third in NCAA-II. Drury graduates one player from the 2018-19 roster and will return five starters and 11 letter winners.
