ST. LOUIS, Mo.— Drury guard
Conley Garrison scored the final five points in Drury's 76-71 win at Maryville on Thursday night in St. Louis, Missouri.
The Panthers led by 12 at halftime, 40-28, but Maryville chipped away and took their first lead of the second half, 71-70, with 50 seconds remaining on free throws by Jalen Gant. Drury's
Brandon Emmert tied the game at 71-71 with a free throw with 38 seconds left, but when he missed his second try, the Saints lost the rebound out of bounds giving the Panthers another shot at the lead.
Conley Garrison, held to just two made field goals in the game to that point, connected on a three-pointer with 25 seconds left to give the Panthers back the lead, 74-71.
The Saints missed a three-point attempt in the closing seconds, and Garrison then iced the game with two free throws with 2.5 seconds left.
"I'm proud of our guys," said Drury head coach
Steve Hesser. "We didn't always do the things we needed to do, but we hung in there with stuff flying at us, and we made a couple of plays when we needed to to get a road win."
Cal Hartley led Drury with 17 points and went 5 for 9 from three-point range while
Sam Marshall came off of the bench and matched a career-high with 14 points going 5 for 7 from the field. Garrison finished with 11 points and eight assists.
Dezmond McDaniel had 20 points to lead Maryville, while Parker Long added 19.

Drury matched a team record with 38 three-point attempts and made 18 of them for 47 percent. Their 18 made three's was two shy of a team record set on Jan. 13, 2018, against Missouri S&T. The Panthers forced 17 turnovers while only committing nine.
