JAMESTOWN, Ky.— The Drury University bass fishing team posted their strongest outing of 2020-21 at the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series tour stop at Lake Cumberland in Jamestown, Kentucky last weekend.
Drury sophomore
Hunter Baird (Salina, Kan.) and junior
Jack Rankin (Springfield-Glendale HS) came in fifth among 168 boats. The duo caught their limit of five fish during each day of the three-day tournament, and two reeled in a total of 26 pounds, 6 ounces with their 15 catches.
JT Long, a sophomore from Oldtown, Idaho, and
Brock Bila, a sophomore from Louisburg, Kansas, came in 19
th with eight caught weighing in at 15 pounds, 15 ounces. The two also won the tournament's 'Big Catch' trophy as they two landed a six-pound fish on day two of the event.
Jacob Welch (Jr., Jefferson City, Mo.) and
Lee Lambrecht (Soph., Helena, Mont.) finished 62
nd with five fish at 11 pounds, 13 ounces, while
Grant Harris (Sr., Springfield-Glendale HS), and
Lauren Plunkett (Sr., Eugene, Mo.) came in 134
th with four fish at 4 pounds, 12 ounces.
The Carhartt Bassmaster College Series presented by Bass Pro Shops continues Oct. 29-31 with the National Championship Tournament at the Harris Chain of Lakes in Florida.
