JAMESTOWN, Ky.— The Drury University bass fishing team posted their strongest outing of 2020-21 at the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series tour stop at Lake Cumberland in Jamestown, Kentucky last weekend.
 
Drury sophomore Hunter Baird (Salina, Kan.) and junior Jack Rankin (Springfield-Glendale HS) came in fifth among 168 boats. The duo caught their limit of five fish during each day of the three-day tournament, and two reeled in a total of 26 pounds, 6 ounces with their 15 catches.
 
JT Long, a sophomore from Oldtown, Idaho, and Brock Bila, a sophomore from Louisburg, Kansas, came in 19^th with eight caught weighing in at 15 pounds, 15 ounces. The two also won the tournament's 'Big Catch' trophy as they two landed a six-pound fish on day two of the event.
 
Jacob Welch (Jr., Jefferson City, Mo.) and Lee Lambrecht (Soph., Helena, Mont.) finished 62^nd with five fish at 11 pounds, 13 ounces, while Grant Harris (Sr., Springfield-Glendale HS), and Lauren Plunkett (Sr., Eugene, Mo.) came in 134^th with four fish at 4 pounds, 12 ounces.
 
The Carhartt Bassmaster College Series presented by Bass Pro Shops continues Oct. 29-31 with the National Championship Tournament at the Harris Chain of Lakes in Florida.
