2020-21 season finally arrives for the Panthers on Friday
The Drury Panthers will finally open their 111th season of intercollegiate competition on Friday when they host Missouri S&T at the O'Reilly Family Event Center. Tipoff is 7:45 pm, and, by rule, in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, no spectators are allowed.

Drury's season tipoff comes more than a month after their original start-date following the result of a positive COVID-19 test from a team member in mid-November. The first five games on the Panthers' schedule have been postponed, and Drury's first available game falls Friday, 18 days into December.

Missouri S&T, meanwhile, has played five games and will be looking for their first win. The Miners have played teams close, though, falling by a basket in an 83-81 loss to Rockhurst and dropping an overtime game to McKendree 89-86.

The Panthers are coming off a season that saw them go 20-9 and 13-7 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Drury is 84-34 against Missouri S&T and won both meetings against the Miners last year with an 86-67 win in Rolla on Jan. 18, then an 81-62 victory at the O' on Jan. 30.

After Friday's game, the Panthers travel to Lindenwood for a 2 pm game against the Lions. The game was originally scheduled for Nov. 29.
